Sudan: The World Bank has approved a USD100 million relief package for flood victims in South Sudan.  Ousmane Dione, World Country Director for Eritrea, Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Sudan in the Eastern and Southern Africa area, told media in Juba, South Sudan's capital, that the already approved monies will be available to the government in mid-2022.

Dione went on to say that they have raised an additional USD 38 million to help South Sudanese refugees and their host communities. Furthermore, he stated that they are not only supporting development programmes, but also funding capacity building in the youngest country.
