New Delhi: World Car Free Day was celebrated last Sunday for environmental protection. Various events were organized in 2500 cities in more than 100 countries of the world including India. The purpose of these programs was to raise awareness about environmental protection.

This was the 19th event of World Car Free Day. Under this, vehicles were not seen on the roads in many cities of the world. Somewhere traffic was completely closed, then people were seen doing yoga on the roads. In many places, people were seen on the streets from food and drink to rest.

In the national capital, New Delhi, people cycled and gave the message of environmental protection. During this period, programs were also organized by the AAP government. On the other hand, people organized awareness programs in many cities of the country including Chandigarh, Mumbai, Chennai.

In Britain and Scotland, people were widely involved in events on the occasion. Vehicles were banned on roads in Belgium too. Cars did not appear on the roads in 10 cities in France. Marathons and walks were held in Portugal. Even after heavy rains in Iceland, people did not remove the vehicles on the streets.
