Islamabad: Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday reaffirmed his government's commitment to protecting children's rights and ensuring a brighter future for all children in the country According to sources, the Pakistani government is committed to ensuring that every child's rights, including growth, education, healthcare, participation, dignity, and security, are respected.

"On this day, World Children’s Day, let us reiterate our commitment to protecting children's rights in Pakistan and providing them with equal chances to become productive citizens," Khan added. He stated that the current government has taken several steps to ensure that children's rights are protected in the country, including the establishment of a national commission on children's rights, as well as the establishment of child protection institutes and the introduction of various legislations to end child labour.

Other welfare initiatives, including as feeding starving children and giving universal health care through health cards, have also been implemented, according to the prime minister.  Furthermore, he noted, a clean and green Pakistan programme has been launched with the next generation in mind.
