Kashmir: On the occasion of World Conservation Day, the Indian Army has taken up the cause of raising public awareness by taking on the task of waste segregation.

This project separates dry and wet trash and further processes it, which has a great influence on nature while also improving the state of the area by preventing illness and other diseases from spreading.
The Army further stated that the massive footfall during the Amarnath Yatra generates a massive amount of rubbish, making cleanliness crucial.

"Every year, more than four lakh people visit the Amarnath Yatra. These enormous numbers generate a massive amount of garbage all along the yatra. To preserve the beauty and religious purity of the Yatra, cleanliness must be maintained " a statement issued by the Indian Army read.

Every year on July 28, World Nature Conservation Day is observed. The day recognises that a stable and healthy society is founded on a healthy environment. This year's theme is 'Living Sustainably in Harmony,' and the entire world is celebrating it.

It is also a day to raise awareness about the necessity of maintaining our natural resources, such as rivers and streams, and limiting the damaging consequences of climate change in order to safeguard the globe from the dangers of climate change.
