World Diabetes Day is celebrated on every year on November 14. The International Diabetes Foundation and the World Health Organization initially established World Diabetes Day on November 14 of each year. World Diabetes Day is first created in 1991 by the International Diabetes Foundation and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Diabetes is a chronic condition in which the pancreas produces little to no insulin. Also, it results in major medical issues and is generally preventable. We use this day to raise awareness and promote education because of this.

WORLD DIABETES DAY'S HISTORY: It is believed that diabetes first appeared approximately 1550 BC. In 1922, insulin was successfully extracted and injected into humans. Therefore, in comparison to the long, laborious march that diabetes has made through history, our understanding of it is fairly recent.

Around 1850, medical practitioners began to distinguish between types two and one because they thought they understood the differences well enough to justify two groups.

Since then, the number of people with type II diabetes has exploded, accounting for an estimated $425 million people globally. One of the reasons the WHO and IDF decided to create World Diabetes Day was to raise awareness of ways to avoid developing the illness. This is startling surge in such a preventable disease.

Daily blood sugar management is a time-consuming and expensive activity because diabetes has an estimated economic cost of $727 billion (USD) globally and $245 billion (nearly one-third of that) in the US alone.

We should raise awareness of the disease and commemorate the birth of the guy who contributed to the development of insulin as an effective therapy for it because of how expensive and preventable it is.

Why World Diabetes Day Is Significant: Diabetes is considered to have been around 1550 B C

Diagnosis of diabetes grew by almost 380% over a 25-year period, from 1988 to 2013. Furthermore, these diagnoses are risky; according to the World Health Organization, diabetes will rank as the seventh largest cause of death globally by the year 2030. It is essential to commit an entire day to this disease because it requires attention.

Type II diabetes is preventable: World Diabetes Day serves as a prompt to lead healthier lives. Through a good diet, frequent exercise, and maintaining a normal weight, type II diabetes can be prevented. It is preferable to avoid tobacco use because it exacerbates type II diabetes as well. It serves as a reminder to learn more about diabetes.

Type I diabetes, formerly known as juvenile diabetes, is equally as big a health danger as type II diabetes, which has reached epidemic levels. Type I diabetes affects 1.25 million Americans, yet there is no recognised aetiology for the condition. The negative impacts on health are, however, just as severe as type II diabetes. The purpose of World Diabetes Day is to raise awareness of diabetes symptoms, encourage testing, and encourage treatment.
