World Earth Day is observed every year on April 22 to raise awareness about the critical need to safeguard our planet from pollution. We can make our desire to safeguard our world from pollution more visible by participating in initiatives such as litter pick-up and tree planting. What began as a day of environmental preservation in the United States on April 22, 1970, has evolved into a global day to advocate a large-scale drive for clean environments around the world.

It's also known as International Mother Earth Day, and it's a time to come together and recognise the global climate catastrophe, which needs an immediate response. This special event focuses on the mounting worries about overpopulation, deteriorating environmental quality, and biodiversity loss.

During a UNESCO convention in San Francisco, peace activist John Mc Connell proposed that the earth and the concept of peace be honoured. Earth Day is becoming a global event dedicated to encouraging clean living and a healthy, sustainable environment for all living things. The day also serves as a reminder of how vulnerable our world is and how critical it is to save it from the global climate disaster, which is deteriorating by the day.

'Invest in our planet' is the topic of Earth Day 2022, which encourages businesses to adopt more sustainable practises. According to the Earth Day Organization, "We must act (bravely), invent (widely), and put our ideas into action (equitably). It will necessitate the participation of all of us. I'm all in. Everyone is held accountable, including businesses, governments, and citizens. For the sake of the earth, we've formed a partnership."

The General Assembly designated April 22nd as International Mother Earth Day in a resolution passed in 2009. The history associated with it, on the other hand, stretches back to the 1970s, when environmental preservation was not yet a concern.
