His Holiness Dalai Lama said on the occasion of World Earth Day: “Let us remember that everyone wants to live a good life, Not just humans, but also animals, birds, and insects."  "We should all be worried about our shared existence." Our amazing brains offer us with incredible chances to do good, but given the state of the world today, we should be able to do more. "We need a more comprehensive education, one that includes inner principles like compassionate concern for the well-being of others," he said.

The spiritual leader emphasised the need of people putting their global interests first.

"Our world is extremely interconnected. New concerns, such as the global climate crisis that affects us all, as well as our participation in the global economy, need us to consider the entire human race. "We must prioritise the global interest," he said.

Dalai Lama went on to say that people must take immediate steps to lessen their reliance on fossil fuels and that they must pay more attention to deforestation and better safeguard the environment.  "We must take immediate actions to minimise our dependency on fossil fuels and replace them with renewable energy sources like as wind and solar power." We need to pay more attention to deforestation and better safeguard the environment. The Dalai Lama stated, "We need to plant and care for more trees."

"Hope is the foundation of our lives; we want things to go well." Hope is concerned with what will happen in the future. Although nothing can be assured regarding the future, we stay optimistic, which is preferable than pessimism. Despite the fact that global warming is intensifying, many young people, in particular, are collaborating to identify and share answers. He went on to say, "They are our hope."

The Dalai Lama emphasised the global concern of climate change, saying that people must band together to defend the earth because climate change is not constrained by national borders.

When "we confront major issues as a result of the climate crisis," we must now "assist each other by establishing a transition timeline." As humans sharing this one planet, we must make an effort to coexist peacefully. Climate change is a threat that transcends national borders and impacts us all. "We must work to conserve nature and our only home, the Earth," he remarked.

Earth Day is observed on April 22 every year. The day marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement since 1970.
