World Health Organization (WHO) Chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has claimed that deaths from the corona epidemic have been recorded last week as the lowest since March 2020. Along with this, he has said that now the end of the epidemic seems possible.
The WHO Chief said on Wednesday (14 September) that we have never been in such a better position that the epidemic can be ended. He said 'The marathon runner does not stop when he starts seeing the finish line from afar. He keeps running with all his remaining strength. We have to do the same. We can see the finish line. We are in a win-win situation. But this is the worst time to stop running.' The WHO also warned that if the world does not take advantage of the opportunity at this time, more variants of corona in the future will increase the number of deaths and instability. So we should take advantage of this opportunity. Along with this, he said that WHO will soon issue six policy documents related to Corona, so that the governments of all countries can take necessary steps to end the corona epidemic.
The WHO chief has said that these 6 policy documents will be based on data collected during the corona period of the last 32 months, evidence and experience on corona cases. These documents will also highlight how to save lives by doing better work, how to improve health services and how to remove social and economic barriers. He has said that all the documents that are available as online contain suggestions on vaccination of groups of sensitive people, continuous testing and sequencing of coronavirus and suggestions related to treatment in the Covid-19 epidemic.
