Today, World Ocean Day is being celebrated all over the world, the ocean covers about 71 percent of the earth's surface. This saline water of the sea has a grand life including plants, animals and other organisms. Oceanic regions fill many valleys on the earth's surface. Scientists and geographers divide it into several categories. It keeps the planet warm by providing 50 percent of the planet's oxygen with the ocean currents that carry the entire planet heat, so to celebrate the character of the oceans, the United Nations and international law celebrate June 8 as World Ocean Day.
Objectives:-
World Ocean Day aims to create awareness about the benefits of the sea in human life. Since the sea provides a variety of life saving and anti-cancer drugs, it is now our turn to conserve sea and marine resources for sustainable development. This day is a day for humanity to celebrate the ocean.
History:-
The concept of World Ocean Day was first proposed at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. The idea emerged to celebrate the world's shared ocean and human personal connection with the sea. Raise awareness about the important role played by the sea in our lives and the important ways people can help save it. At present, the United Nations Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea are actively coordinating a number of activities for World Ocean Day.
