October 20 is the World Oestoporosis Day. This day aims to create awareness about the prevention, diagnosis and treatment for the Oestoporosis that affects the bones. This condition makes a persons bone to lose the strength and density. Weak and brittle bones due to osteoporosis are at a higher risk of fractures. Small damage can also lead to fractures. Be careful with the symptoms, if left unnoticed and uncontrolled may hinder you from doing day to day activities. 

The factors that contribute the osteoporosis are:

1. Family History: Non-modifiable risk factor, with a family history person in the family chain are at a higher risk. 

2. Age: The bone density reduces with age. Aged persons are at a higher risk. Calcium and Vitamin D in the diet, regular exercises ensures healthy and strong bones.

3. Gender: Women after the age of 50 are at higher risk than men. 

4. Body Weight: Persons with more body weight or small body frame are at a higher risk. Regular exercise and healthy diet maintains body weight.

5. Disease factors: Celiac disease, Kidney diseases, Cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatoid arthritis increase the risk of Oestoporosis. 

A well-balanced diet with protein, calcium, Vitamin D and other essential nutrients is a much essential to avoid oestophorosis risk. Regular exercise helps to maintain proper physique.
