You must all know very well about the ozone layer. We have been reading about it since childhood and we all know that it protects us from the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun. Today is World Ozone Day. This day is celebrated every year. The day is celebrated with the objective of making people aware of the ozone layer. It is celebrated on September 16 every year. Tell all of you that the ozone layer in the atmosphere protects the earth from harmful ultraviolet rays emanating from the sun.

In fact, these rays from the sun can cause many diseases, including skin diseases, so the ozone layer protects us from them, and it can be said that life on earth would not be possible without this layer. Let us also tell you that at the end of the year 1970, scientists came to know about the holes in the ozone layer. It was then that in the 80s, the governments of many countries of the world began to reflect on this problem.

In 1985, the world's governments adopted the Vienna Convention to protect the ozone layer. After all this, on December 19, 1994, the UN General Assembly decided to commemorate International Day defend the ozone layer on September 16. Let me tell you that the first Ozone Day was celebrated on 16th September 1995 and since then this day has been celebrated continuously.
