HYDERABAD: Doctors suggest that eating a variety of meals, exercising regularly, and getting enough sleep can help patients with Parkinson's disease improve their health and quality of life.

World Parkinson's Day is observed every year  on April 11 and is supported by the European Parkinson's Disease Association. The goal of Parkinson's Awareness Day is to enhance public awareness about Parkinson's disease and promote a better understanding of how it affects people.

Parkinson's disease is characterised by a decrease in the number of nerve cells that carry the neurotransmitter dopamine to other cells. More brain centres are damaged as cell loss spreads to broader areas of the brain. As a result, motor and non-motor disorders become worse.

The most significant factor as people age is the quality of life they will have for the rest of their lives. Parkinson's disease is a frequent sickness that has a negative impact on a person's quality of life as they age. Because the specific cause of Parkinson's disease is unknown, there are no proven strategies to avoid the disease.

Early onset Parkinson's disease is a concerning diagnosis because it can have a substantial impact on the individual's and their family's quality of life. Parkinson's disease is more likely to have a genetic relationship when it appears at a younger age. It may also progress differently in older persons than Parkinson's disease. Being aware of the signs might assist a person in receiving the therapy and assistance they require sooner rather than later.

"While there is no specific diet for Parkinson's disease, most persons with the disease should eat a range of nutritious grains, vegetables, fruits, milk and dairy products, and protein-rich meals like meat and beans to maintain overall good health." For their healthful fats, almonds, olive oil, seafood, and eggs should be included in your diet. Eating a diverse diet will provide you with the energy, protein, vitamins, minerals, and fibre you require for optimal health.
