Today, July 11, 2021, marks the World Population Day. Every year on this day the nation highlights the problems of overpopulation and raises awareness about the effects of overpopulation on the environment and development. The day raises awareness about the global population status amongst people. This event was established in the year 1989 by the Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme.
The first World Population Day was marked on July 11, 1989, and today, in 2021, the world will mark its 32 nd Population Day. World Population Day was established by the Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme in 1989. It was inspired by the public interest in Five Billion Day, the approximate date on which the world's population reached five billion people on July 11, 1987.
