World Sleep Day 2018: Know the trick to sleep faster here

A research has suggested a trick to overcome an everyday problem ubiquitous among humans. The problem of not being able to sleep soon after hitting the bed despite being tired with the day’s activity.

The trick is a simple act requiring merely five minutes to complete before sleeping. According to the studies, writing a to-do-list just before sleeping can prove to be helpful in sleeping soon after you hit the bed. The list should contain all the important tasks you need to do the next day.

It may seem irrelevant as a trick to be able to sleep faster. However, if one delves deeper into reason, the act calms the mind and helps it get rid of all the unnecessary worries and stress about the tasks to do the next day. The research claimed that work-related worries and tension are the reason a person is not able to sleep faster.

“We live in a 24/7 culture in which our to-do lists seem to be constantly growing and causing us to worry about unfinished tasks at bedtime,” said lead study author Michael K Scullin.

A group of people who participated in the study were directed to write a to-do-list on the tasks they have to perform the next day before sleeping in a sleep lab. Their electrical brain activity was monitored throughout the night.

It is that easy to solve your problem of not being able to sleep. Happy Sleep Day!
