Rishabh Pant and Ajinkya Rahane are currently at the crease and India are four for 85 after 41 overs. Team India scored 217 runs in their first innings after losing the toss. In reply, New Zealand scored 249 runs in the first innings with the help of Devon Conway (54 runs) and Ken Williamson (49 runs). India got a chance to bat in the final session on the fifth day.

The rain has spoiled all the zest of the first World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand. The first and fourth days of the final Test were badly washed out due to rain and 90 overs could not be bowled for the rest of the day. With only 221 overs to be bowled in the last five days, the match is also being played in the Reserve Day today.
