Earlier in the second match, after defeating Sarah Hildebrandt of USA 8-2, she qualified for the bronze medal. With this, Vinesh has also achieved Olympic quota in 53 kg.

Vinesh has become the first Indian wrestler to get a 2020 Olympic ticket. Sara is a silver medalist of 53 kg category in the World Championship held last year. At the same time, Vinesh landed in the weight category of 50 kg to 53 kg. Vinesh had earlier defeated Yulia Khawaldji 5–0 in a one-sided match in the first match of the repechage.
