India's COVID-19 situation remains hugely concerning: WHO

The situation across the country has become very alarming due to corona, WHO head Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyes said on Friday that India's corona situation is worrying, where many states are receiving a number of cases of infection, people are getting admitted to hospitals and deaths are taking place in huge numbers. He warned that the second year of the epidemic would be more deadly for the world than in the first year.

Ghebreyes said WHO is helping India deal with the increasing cases of corona and supplying thousands of oxygen concentrates, tents, masks and other medical supplies to temporary and mobile hospitals. "The situation in India remains alarming, cases, number of hospital stake holders and deaths are on the rise in many states to the level of concern," the Director General of the World Body said in a daily media interaction. We thank all the partners who are helping India."

In the country, the cases of corona virus have increased to 2,40,46,809 after the confirmation of corona virus infection in 3,43,144 persons in a day, while the number of patients dying after the death of 4,000 more people has gone up to 2,62,317. As per the data of the Union Health Ministry till 8 am, the number of patients undergoing treatment has gone up to 37,04,893, which is 15 of the total cases of infection. 41 per cent while the national rate of recovery from corona is 8.3 per cent. It has become 50 per cent.
