NEW DELHI: The leader of the Balyan Khap on Tuesday prevented the best wrestlers from India from dipping their medals in the Ganga river in Haridwar and demanded five days from champions. Later, he stated that a detailed discussion of the issue will take place in the Mahapanchayat on Tuesday.

Olympic medalists Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia, and Asian Games gold medalist Vinesh Phogat reached to Har ki Pauri on Tuesday to express their displeasure at Brij Bhushan Singh, the head of the Indian Wrestling Federation, for not taking action. The BJP MP is accused of harassing many female wrestlers, said the complaints.

The farmer leader, along with other khap and political leaders, met with the protesting wrestlers in Uttarakhand, and it took them an hour and 45 minutes to persuade them.

Tikait announced that a mahapanchayat will be held to determine the next steps in the wrestlers' protest. These members will come from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Pujab, and other states.

These professional wrestlers were taken to various locations on the day of the new parliament building's opening and held by the Delhi police for several hours. The Delhi police imprisoned these demonstrators at various locations and removed from Jantar Mantar the trampolines, mats, and other property of the protesting farmers.
