The next mission for Team India is about to begin. The World Test Championship final, or WTC 2023, will begin on Wednesday following the IPL. Team India, led by Rohit Sharma, will take on Australia, led by Pat Cummins, in this fantastic match. In the meantime, Team India's starting lineup has been kept a complete secret until the day of the game. That is, the playing XI for the Indian team won't be known until captain Rohit Sharma arrives at the pitch for the toss at 3 p.m. local time in India. The good news for Team India is that it played a series of four Test matches with Australia prior to the World Test Championship final. The only distinction is that this time, the final will be held in England, whereas the previous series was held in India. The Indian team hasn't undergone much change since the previous series, though.
Ajinkya Rahane rejoins Team India after an impressive IPL 2023 performance.
Ajinkya Rahane did not participate in the series of four Test matches between Australia and India. He was about to leave the team, but Ajinkya Rahane's powerful batting performances in the IPL 2023 prevented that. Ajinkya Rahane once had the highest strike rate of all the IPL players at one point. Ajinkya Rahane's inclusion in the Indian Test team and the announcement of Team India for the World Test Championship came only after that. Although it is another matter that Suryakumar Yadav has not been included in Team India for the WTC final, he was also a member of Team India for the four-test series. However, he is on the roster of backup players. Suryakumar Yadav might not be able to play, but Ajinkya Rahane will be in the starting XI.
Additionally, Shardul Thakur rejoins Test Team India.
In addition, Shardul Thakur did not play for Team India in that series due to his marriage rather than a lack of ability or an injury; however, he has since been re-chosen for the championship game. He should be expected to play for Team India and be a member of the starting XI. Ishan Kishan was also a part of Team India for the four-match series against Australia, but he remained absent. He was unable to participate in any games. He was not in the Indian team that was announced for the WTC final after that, but it was later discovered that KL Rahul was injured and would not be able to play in both the World Test Championship and the IPL. Ishan Kishan joins the group in place of another player. Since KS Bharat played in every game of the four-match Test series, it is more likely that he will play in the championship match, even though it is difficult to predict whether he will be in the starting XI or not.
Kuldeep Yadav is no longer on the team.
Kuldeep Yadav, who had previously been in the squad, has also been dropped, which is another significant change following the India vs. Australia series. This is due to the presence of Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Akshar Patel on the team. There was no point in selecting Kuldeep Yadav because there is only one game left to be played and there is little chance that all three spinners will make the team. This is thought to be the reason Kuldeep Yadav has been temporarily excluded from the team. Ruturaj Gaikwad was previously kept on the team as a backup, but due to his marriage, he is no longer on it.
The entire Indian team for the World Test Final is composed of the following players: Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravichandran Ashwin, KS Bharat, Ravindra Jadeja, Ishan Kishan, Akshar Patel, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, Jaydev Unadkat, and Umesh Yadav.
Suryakumar Yadav, Mukesh Kumar, and Yashasvi Jaiswal are backup players.
