As part of its new Redmi sub-brand, Xiaomi introduced a budget smartphone Redmi 7A, which is the successor to last year’s Redmi 6A. The novelty received a 5.45-inch screen with an aspect ratio of 18: 9 and a resolution of 1440 × 720 pixels. The case of the device is entirely made of polycarbonate with a P2i coating that protects from splashes and raindrops. The model is quite compact in size: 146.3 × 70.4 × 9.5 mm.

For the performance, smartphone meets the eight-core Snapdragon 439 chip, supplemented by 2 or 3 GB of RAM and 16 or 32 GB of internal storage. There is a slot for microSD cards.

The main camera is 13 megapixel with autofocus, the front one is 5 megapixel. The device supports the face unlock. The Redmi 7A battery has a capacity of 4000 mAh and supports charging power of 10 W, which is still rare for entry-level smartphones. The device is based on Android 9.0 Pie with a proprietary shell MIUI 10. There is support for VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, FM radio, Bluetooth 5.0 and GPS.

The price of the novelty will be announced on May 28 at the presentation of the flagship Redmi K20. Although now we can say that Redmi 7A will be one of the most affordable smartphones Xiaomi.
