Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi opened its exclusive 'Mi Home' retail store Gurigram Ambience Mall to increase its penetration in the offline smartphone market, taking the opportunity of upcoming festivals.
Xiaomi's vice president Manoj Jain, Managing Director of Xiaomi India, said, "This store will be opened for the people in India."
Xiaomi is primarily an online exclusive brand, but it has made its way through the 'Mi Home store'
Jain said, "By the previous year, our offline business was less than 10 per cent, which dropped to 5 per cent after the launch of 'Redmi Note 4' this year because this model was being sold only online. We focused on offline business and in July it has crossed 20% figure. "
According to the market research firm International Data Corporation (IDC), Xiaomi's share in the Indian smartphone market is now 17.9 percent.
