Of course, the development of such technology is carried out with the aim of making future Xiaomi smartphones completely frameless, with no holes or cutouts for the front camera, and you will not need to develop a sliding mechanism for it.

The essence of the technology is as follows: in working condition, the user cannot see the front camera, for him the display now is a full screen designed for using a smartphone. But, one has only to launch the photo application and switch to the front camera, part of the display in which the front camera is located, goes out so that the camera can record video or take a photo.
When the company is going to present smartphones with this technology, it is not clear. But, of course, to argue that such smartphones will be released at least this year is clearly not worth it. Most likely, this technology should be expected in future flagship smartphones from Xiaomi, for example, in the line of Mi or Mi MIX.
