The company Xiaomi has released a HUD-projector for the car, which displays the readings on the windshield. By default, an image with a diagonal of 8 inches is projected, but if necessary it can be increased.
The gadget is powered via an OBD interface (12 V / 0.5 A), which is used to diagnose the car. It allows you to know the speed, fuel consumption, time and other useful data.
Thanks to a special filter, the image is displayed without glare, distortion, and ghosting. There is an automatic brightness adjustment depending on the level of ambient lighting. Also, pre-set and manual adjustment with the ability to save three different profiles.
The setting is done through a mobile application on a smartphone with a Bluetooth connection. A permanent connection allows you to display not only the driving characteristics but also navigation indicators, camera warnings, and notifications from your smartphone on the windshield.
The performance of the Xiaomi HUD-projector is responsible for the 32-bit processor, supplemented by a passive cooling system. The absence of fans allowed to make the device completely silent.
The gadget is made of polycarbonate and reliable ABS plastic, resistant to ultraviolet radiation. The case is additionally covered with matte spray paint, eliminating sun glare and reflections.
So far, the projector is presented at Xiaomi crowdfunding platform, where its price was 399 yuan. After July 14th, it may appear on AliExpress.
