NEW DELHI: Delhi police had to be called in at Xiomi's special launch event held for its Mi Max smartphone in the city today. The launch event held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium witnessed huge chaos when fans, invited by Xiaomi, started protesting over lack of seats at the stadium. Xiaomi Mi Max price in India is Rs. 14999. Mi Max is launched on June 30, 2016.

The 3GB, 32GB variant costs Rs. 14,999. The 4GB, 128GB variant is priced at Rs. 19,999.

The Xiaomi Mi Max comes in multiple colour options like white, dark grey and silver which are also priced the same.

On the front, the Xiaomi Mi Max flaunts a giant 6.44-inch Full HD IPS display that is coupled with impressive viewing angles which reproduce vibrant colours and the storage space 32 GB.

The phablet does not suffer from any legibility issues, and the screen can be read easily even when placed under bright sunlight.

An emerging trend of mobile firms calling hordes of ‘fans’ to their press conferences today saw the crowd turning unruly at an event of Chinese handset maker Xiaomi and police had to intervene in the matter.

While the event was attended by around 2,000 so-called ‘Xiaomi fans’, the space constraints led to a protest by some of them at the event, which was being held for launch by Xiaomi of Mi Max, which the company claimed is the first mobile phone with 6.44 inch display.

The protest continued for quite some time with people shouting slogans against the company and it delayed the event at least by half an hour.

This was the first for any technology related even in India and the chaos was reported widely on twitter by bloggers and tech journalists present for the event.
