New Delhi: Former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha is likely to be declared as the opposition's presidential candidate. One of his tweets on Tuesday morning has given further impetus to these speculations. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) national vice president tweeted, "I am grateful to Mamata ji for the respect and prestige she has given me in TMC. The time has come when, for a larger national purpose, I have to move away from the party and work for greater opposition unity. I am sure he accepts this move. '

When Sinha was asked about the opposition's candidate for the presidential election, he said he could not speak more than his tweet. It is to be noted that Yashwant Sinha has served as the Finance and External Affairs Minister of India. He is currently the national vice-president of the TMC. He resigned from the BJP in 2018. Let us know that West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is in talks with opposition leaders for the presidential election.

A day after former West Bengal Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi refused to be nominated for the post, the opposition leader is meeting at Sharad Pawar's residence on Tuesday to discuss the presidential election. Earlier, Sharad Pawar and National Conference President and former Jammu and Kashmir CM Farooq Abdullah had rejected the proposals.
