The Yogi government of the state has been ordering advance payment of salaries in the last years when the festival of Diwali and Holi falls in the last week of the month. This time also, employee organizations met the Additional Chief Secretary Finance and demanded that the salary for the month of October be transferred before Diwali instead of November 1, citing bank holiday on October 26 and public holiday on October 27.
Additional Chief Secretary Finance Sanjeev Mittal has issued an order to transfer salary on the 26th of October, citing bank holiday on the 26th and 27th public holiday on Diwali festival. He has also issued instructions to all district magistrates, chief and senior treasurers to ensure prompt compliance of this order.
