CAA Protest: Yogi government to recover 23 lakh from 53 miscreants of Muzaffarnagar, order given to Tehsildar

Lucknow: On December 20, 2019 in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district, the Yogi government will recover Rs 23.41 lakh from the people here in a case of sabotage and arson during a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The administration has sent a notice to 50 people. In which they have been asked to compensate for the sabotage. Tehsildar Sadar has been asked to recover money from these people. The Tehsildar has also been given a copy of the order along with the name addresses of all 53.

Additional District Magistrate of Muzaffarnagar Amit Singh has given information about this. He said that we have ordered 53 people to recover the loss of about Rs 23,41,290. It is noteworthy that in Muzaffarnagar, there were fierce protests at several places in the city on 20 December to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The civil line police station area was the most affected. Violence, sabotage and arson were also reported in the city Kotwali area. Around 50 cases of violence were reported in both police stations.

There was fierce violence on the Kachcha road, Madina Chowk in Civil Line area. CM Yogi had given orders to compensate the miscreants for the violence. District Collector Selva Kumari had designated SDM administration Amit Singh as the competent authority for the determination and disposal of compensation for the loss of violence in the urban area. Subsequently, claims were made by government departments and private individuals for damages to their property in the court of SDM administration.
