Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh is likely to bring an early law for registration and regulation of all shrines in the state. The laws and proposals of other states are being considered for this. According to sources, an order of the Supreme Court has been made the basis behind the verdict. In the judgement, the Supreme Court had directed to facilitate devotees and manage the maintenance of religious places etc. According to the report, the Uttar Pradesh government is constituting the Directorate of Charitable Affairs.

A resolution to constitute a separate directorate for conducting religious activities has been passed. Not being an institution for the regulation of religious activities, the administration was facing problems in the operation of the charitable affairs department's plans and related projects. The proposal for setting up of a directorate has been approved at a cabinet meeting in Lucknow on Friday. After the formation of the Directorate, the government will come out with an ordinance for registration and regulation of all shrines.

After becoming a charitable directorate, its headquarters will be in Varanasi. The priority of the Directorate will be the operation and management of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Kailash Mansarovar Bhawan in Ghaziabad will be constructed and managed. Besides, the management of Bhajan Sandhya in Ayodhya and management of all mythological sites in the state will also be the main function of the Directorate.
