Yogi govt's big announcement: 90,000+ farmers to get compensation

Lucknow: CM Yogi Adityanath has made two big announcements to the people of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday (October 26, 2021). On the one hand, the common man has been ordered to return more than three lakh cases registered during the crisis period of the corona epidemic, on the other hand, an amount of Rs. 30.54 crore has been released to compensate more than 90,000 farmers of unseasonal rains and flood-ravaged crops in 35 districts.

The Yogi government has taken a major decision to withdraw lakhs of criminal cases registered against the general public during the Corona period. The order in this regard has been issued by the Justice Department on Tuesday. Sitting or former MPs, MLAs, Legislative Council members are excluded from this ambit. The matter will be considered separately with the approval of the High Court. Law Minister Brijesh Pathak said that all district magistrates have been asked in writing to withdraw the cases registered in violation of corona protocol and lockdown.

Now, the process of withdrawal of such cases registered in the court will begin. This is for the first time that such a large number of cases are being withdrawn from a verdict. Meanwhile, a direction issued by Principal Secretary, Department of Justice Pramod Kumar Srivastava II said that action should be initiated to withdraw more than three lakh cases registered across the state under the Disaster Management Act, 2005, Epidemic Act, 1897 and Section 188 of the IPC etc.
