Lucknow: There was a protest against the CAA-NRC in Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow last year. Since then, the Yogi government's action against the protesters is going on. Now the government has declared a reward on these protesters. Posters of the accused have been installed in many places in Old Lucknow. Posters of 14 other accused including Maulana Saif Abbas have been put on the streets.
Eight protesters have been declared wanted under the gangster's case. Notice has also been posted outside the house of the accused. There was a protest against the CAA-NRC on December 19 in Lucknow. Violence erupted between police and protesters. After which the Lucknow police had arrested several accused by writing an FIR. Posters of people involved in the violence were also put up at the intersections.
Eight accused in the FIR lodged at Thana Thakurganj are still absconding, against whom the police, while taking action under Section 82, have issued a notice. Earlier, Joint Commissioner of Police Naveen Arora said that there were 27 accused in the case registered at Thakurganj police station who were involved in violence. In this, 11 people have been arrested and one of the accused surrendered. However, 7 accused had taken a stay of arrest from the court, after which, action has been taken against the remaining 8 accused under the Gunda Act, Section 82 in which the notice was served outside their house.
