Yogi govt presents supplementary budget ahead of UP polls

Lucknow: Ahead of uttar pradesh assembly elections, the yogi government in the state on Thursday presented a supplementary budget of Rs 8,479 crore in the assembly. CM Yogi Adityanath will deliver a speech on the Budget at 2 pm today. State that the government has presented its second supplementary budget in the current financial year. The Yogi government is trying to reach out to farmers, labourers, unemployed and state workers through the supplementary budget.

As soon as the Assembly met for the day, SP-Congress members raised slogans demanding a debate on the inquiry report SIT the Lakhimpur Kheri case and the dismissal of Minister of State for Home Teni. Amidst the uproar, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna presented a vote on account for a portion of the Supplementary Budget, FY 2022-23 in the Assembly.

In view of the 2022 assembly elections, it is believed that the Yogi government in the state, like the Modi government at the Centre, may provide honorary funds to farmers. Through this, the farmers can be made available in the election year and the party will benefit from it in the elections. At the same time, 2.7 crore registered workers in the unorganized sector can be showered with money. The chief minister is also likely to announce facilities to state employees under the Jan Arogya Yojana.
