Yogi govt to launch big campaign in UP from July 1 for rain-borne diseases

Lucknow: Amajor campaign against infectious diseases like Encephalitis, Dengue, Chikungunya, and Malaria  is set to begin in Uttar Pradesh from July 1. Health department as well as several other related departments will contribute to it. CM Yogi Adityanath, after a meeting with Team-9 on Thursday, outlined a detailed action plan in this regard. He said that all the departments have to come together to make this campaign a success.  

CM Yogi informed that earlier the campaign was limited to 38 districts of the state, but in view of the havoc of different diseases in different parts of the state, the entire state has been included in it. He said that from Kushinagar to Saharanpur for encephalitis, Mathura-Firozabad-Agra-Kanpur-Lucknow for dengue, Bareilly and surrounding areas for malaria, Varanasi and adjoining districts for Kala-azar and Bundelkhand in terms of Chicken Gunia are vulnerable areas.

In one form or another the entire state is more or less affected by these diseases. Illness increases when we ignore and careless less. That is why we have decided that the campaign should be carried out in the entire state. He said that from 1st Of July, the Information Department along with the Health Department will put up large hoardings at every district, tehsil, block headquarters, every civic body, every public place like hospital etc.
