Yogi government to spend Rs 479 crore on Madarsas, major announcements for minorities

Lucknow: After capturing power in Uttar Pradesh for the second time in a row, the Yogi Adityanath government in the state presented the first budget of its second term in the assembly on Thursday. In the biggest budget of UP so far, many big announcements have been made keeping in mind the women, farmers, youth and elderly, etc. Along with this, many important announcements have also been made in the budget for the minority community.

 

Suresh Khanna, who is handling the finance ministry in the Yogi Adityanath government, has informed about the budget and said that a provision of Rs 600 crore has been made in the financial year 2022-2023 under the Purnasam Scholarship Scheme for students belonging to the minority community. 195.50 crore has been proposed for revenue side scholarship under the Post-Tenth Scholarship Scheme.  

Finance Minister Suresh Khanna further informed that, along with this, an arrangement of 479 crore 07 lakhs has been made for the scheme of modernization of Arabic Persian Madarsas. A total of Rs.508.18 crore has been proposed under various components of the Multi-Sector Districts Plan for the development of infrastructure development, education and drinking water schemes in minority concentration areas.
