Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh government employees and pensioners to get gift of increased Dearness Allowance on New Year. In fact, the Yogi government is going to pay their three per cent increased dearness allowance in cash. Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief are to be paid to the employees and pensioners of the State at an increased rate of 3 per cent from 1st July last. At present, they are being paid DA-DR at the rate of 28 per cent. With the new increase, it will go up to 31 per cent.
The Finance Department of Uttar Pradesh has started preparations for cash payments to employees and pensioners. The Finance Department has sent a proposal for payment of DA and DR at an increased rate for cm Yogi Adityanath's approval. The arrears of increased DA from July to November will be credited to the General Provident Fund (GPF) account of the employees. He will be paid cash in January along with december salary.
The central government had already taken a decision for central employees to increase the dearness allowance by 3 per cent from July 1. After the Centre's decision, 16 lakh employees of the UP government were also expected to DA more. He expected it to be paid with bonus on the occasion of Diwali. However, nothing like this happened during Diwali. Now that every political party is gearing up for next year's assembly elections, it is believed that the government is going to give this New Year gift with the intention of pleasing the employees.
