Gorakhpur: Tomorrow will be a very special day for the Gorakhpur Zoo when the Wildlife Week is being celebrated amidst various programmes.  Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, will name two leopard cubs and allow a white tigress into the main enclosure of the Gorakhpur Zoo.

During the ongoing Wildlife Week celebrations at the zoo, the white tigress Geeta was moved to the Gorakhpur zoo two and a half months ago. For the Chief Minister's programme on October 5, the zoo administration is hard at work.
"The Gorakhpur Zoo was built thanks to the efforts of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. In March 2021, he unveiled it. He wants to turn Gorakhpur Zoo (Shaheed Ashfaqullah Khan Zoological Park) into one of America's most uncommon zoos. On his own, the government's 100-day action plan included a gift of a white tiger to Gorakhpur Zoo during his second term as chief minister "read a declaration.

In accordance with the action plan, a white tigress named Geeta was brought from the Lucknow Zoo to the Gorakhpur Zoo on the evening of June 20. This white tigress was maintained at a crawl for adaption purposes first. This white tiger was housed in a crawl cage initially as a quarantine for adaption.

On Wednesday, Gorakhpur Zoo's white tigress will be released into the main cage as a new gift from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to the visitors. "CM Yogi will also give the names of two leopard cubs when he gets to the zoo. The zoo's hospital is where the leopard cubs are housed. Along with this, the Kanpur Zoo's two Himalayan Black Bears (bears) that the Chief Minister is holding are about to be released from the zoo "It added.

Yogi's intention is to make Gorakhpur Zoo (Shaheed Ashfaqullah Khan Zoological Park) one of the rarest zoos in the country. He made the decision on his own to include a white tiger as a gift for Gorakhpur Zoo in the government's 100-day action plan during his second tenure as chief minister.
