New Delhi: Taking a step forward in the fight against the corona pandemic, India is now vaccinating children between the ages of 15 and 18. After it was announced by PM Narendra Modi, the registration started from 1 January 2022 and the vaccine started from 3 January. The latest news is that the trial of the nasal vaccine (vaccine given through the nose) has been allowed in India. The Subject Expert Committee (SEC) of the Drug Controller General of India (DGCI) has given this permission to the indigenous company Bharat Biotech, a vaccine manufacturer.

What is Nasal Vaccine and how will it work?

This vaccine is injected into the body through the nose and does not require a syringe. At the same time, if Bharat Biotech Company is to be believed, then only four drops of this nasal vaccine will be enough. Two drops each will be put in both the nostrils. At the same time, it is believed that it will be very effective on children. The vaccine reportedly produces an immune response at the site of infection within the respiratory passages starting from the nasal airways. In the case of children, it is considered very effective in preventing the infection and spread of corona.

This nasal vaccine is being manufactured in India by Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech. In this, he is taking the help of Washington University School of Medicine, from which he is making BBV154 Nasal Vaccine. It is being told that after the trial is successful, the nasal vaccine will be used as a booster dose.
