After the recent release of the IMEI database by the Department of Telecommunications, those whose phones have been stolen or lost will report the missing or stolen phone to the Department of Telecom (DoT) with a helpline number. The department will then blacklist your phone's IMEI. The phone will no longer be used in the future. As soon as a SIM card is used in a blacklisted phone, the police will first block the phone and then track the phone.

For your information, the Department of Telecommunications will blacklist the IMEI number in three parts, including White, Grey, and Black. Phones on the white list will be allowed to be used, while the phones on the blacklist will not be used. The gray list will contain data from phones that do not conform to the standards.
