Young Indian cricketer Avi Barot has passed away. According to the information received, he died of a heart attack. He was only 29 years old and has said goodbye to the world. Avi Barot used to play cricket for Saurashtra and his demise has been reported by the Saurashtra Cricket Association. Avi Barot, former India Under-19 captain, was also part of Saurashtra's winning team that won the Ranji Trophy title in 2019-20.

He also represented Saurashtra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy played in January this year. Briefing reporters today, the Saurashtra Cricket Association said, "Avi Barot, who plays cricket for Haryana and Gujarat, is no more. He died of cardiac arrest on Friday.'' The Saurashtra Cricket Association has thus condoled the passing away of Avi Barot. The association says he was a brilliant cricketer and his departure has caused a big loss to Saurashtra.

Avi Barot was a right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman. Apart from that, he also used to do off-break bowling. He played 38 first-class matches, 38 List A matches and 20 domestic T20 matches in his career. With this, he scored 1,547 runs in his first-class career. While scored 1,030 runs in List A matches and 717 runs in domestic T20s. Avi Barot was part of the Ranji Trophy title when Saurashtra defeated Bengal to win the Ranji Trophy title. For Saurashtra, he played 21 Ranji Trophy matches, 17 List A matches and 11 domestic T20 matches.

On the other hand, Saurashtra Cricket Association President Jaydev Shah condoled the passing away of Avi Barot and said, "This is very shocking and sad news. Barot was a better teammate who had amazing cricketing skills. Barot's performance was amazing in all the recent home matches played. He was a good man and friend. His sudden departure has caused a lot of pain to everyone associated with the Saurashtra Cricket Association.''
