Last chance to link PAN card to Aadhaar, this will be the result of ignoring

The last date to link your Permanent Account Number (PAN) to Aadhaar is till December 31. The Income Tax Department had recently extended its tenure. It is necessary for all PAN card holders to link both these documents. PAN card holders can link their Aadhaar with PAN online or via SMS.

What will happen after 31 December
In such a situation, the question arises that what will happen to the PAN number of those who are not able to link PAN with Aadhaar even after 31 December. If considered by the Income Tax Department, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) can declare PAN numbers that are not linked to Aadhaar as 'invalid' or 'not in use'. The department has said, "PAN failing to disclose Aadhaar number can be considered invalid."

According to the Finance Bill, after completion of the deadline, such PAN cards will be declared "inactive" which are not linked to Aadhaar. However, there is also a possibility that the PAN card will be activated again after the PAN card has been linked to Aadhaar. At the moment, there is no clarity about this, in such a case, linking these two cards is the better option.

This is how you can link PAN card with Aadhaar

PAN can be linked to Aadhaar through income tax e-filing portal or SMS. Through the website, you can link PAN card to Aadhaar like this:

1. Log on.

4. After this, enter the name entered in your PAN, Aadhar Number, Aadhar Card. After this, you enter the Captcha Code and enter the necessary information and link the PAN to the Aadhaar card.

Such links can be made through SMS through both these documents:

1. Go to your right message box and type - UIDPAN <12 digit Aadhaar> <10 digit PAN>

2. Send this message to 567678 or 56161.
