USA: Your primary phone can now be one of up to four phones that are linked to your current WhatsApp account.

The enhanced multi-device feature allows you to continue messaging from the same account on all of the connected devices.

CEO of Meta Mark Zuckerberg announced the "highly requested" feature on Twitter and Instagram. The update is currently rolling out and will be accessible everywhere very soon.

While WhatsApp allows you to access your account from desktops or laptops, the company has not previously permitted linking multiple phones.
You can connect your primary account to multiple phones thanks to the new feature. So, even if one device experiences a problem or runs out of battery, you can still access the app from other linked phones.

According to WhatsApp, "each linked phone connects to WhatsApp independently, ensuring that your private messages, media, and calls are end-to-end encrypted. Because of end-to-end encryption, nobody will be able to listen in on your conversations. Please be aware that WhatsApp will "automatically log you out of all companion devices" if your primary device is inactive for an extended period of time.

Thanks to this new function, if you happen to run a small business, any of your employees will now be able to reply to clients directly from their phones using the same WhatsApp Business account.

On up to four phones, you can access the same WhatsApp account. The function is accessible on both iOS and Android.

Go to the 'Settings' tab on WhatsApp from your main device. Click "Link a Device" after choosing "Linked Devices." Scan the QR code on the additional device and follow the in-app instructions to sync your account.

WhatsApp also revealed a different, easier method of connecting to companion devices.

Instead of scanning a QR code, you can now enter your phone number on WhatsApp Web to get a one-time code that you can use on your phone to enable device linking, according to WhatsApp.

The company plans to add the feature to "more companion devices in the future."
