Man arrested for misleading posts on social media against Prime Minister

A 40-year-old man from Puna Gam in Surat has recently been detained for writing misleading posts against PM Narendra Modi on Facebook. The person had written a post on Facebook regarding bengal elections and corona virus epidemic situation in the country.

Arrest made for writing misleading posts:

According to police, Sanjay Dangar, a resident of Puna Gam in Surat, had written and shared the post, which is a construction businessman by profession and originally from Amreli. Sanjay has been taken into custody by a team of cyber crime cell in Surat after a FIR was registered on Thursday. A case has been registered under Section 505 1(B) of IPC on Dangar to create alarm or fear among the public.

It is learnt that an FIR has been registered against Dangar on Wednesday. It said that the criminal had posted a post on Facebook on April 10 from his account called Sanjaytori Talavia. The post had written misleading things by putting up a picture of Prime Minister Modi and Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Cyber Crime Cell, Surat city, YA Gohil told Indian Express that the accused was taken into custody on Thursday and has been granted bail today. Dangar's arrest came on the same day that vadodara police have detained a youth in connection with the posting of derogatory video of Chief Minister Rupani.
