Mumbai: A youth attempted suicide on Sunday at Bhayandar railway station near Mumbai. The youth jumped from the foot over bridge (FOB) and fell on the railway track. Railway Protection Force (RPF) and some passengers were present at the time of the incident. RPF personnel immediately saved the life of the youth by removing him from the track. The young man has been admitted to the hospital. The police is investigating the matter

How did the incident happen?

According to the information, this incident happened around 12 noon on Sunday. The youth boarded the FOB connecting Bhayandar East to West. After this he suddenly jumped on the railway track. As soon as he fell on the track, the person started groaning in pain. RPF officers and some passengers were present there in front. As soon as the RPF personnel saw the young man on the track, he immediately ran and picked up the man and took him away. After this he was taken to the hospital.

A video of a person jumping from the FOB connecting Bhayandar East to West has also surfaced. Western Railway has shared this video on its social media handle. Along with this, Railways has urged to exercise caution. Why did the young man try to commit suicide, the reason could not be made clear

A railway official said that as soon as the person jumped on the tracks, RPF personnel and some people immediately reached the spot and took him away from the tracks, which saved his life. He was taken to a nearby hospital and his relatives were informed. The reason behind why the young man attempted suicide by jumping on the railway track is not known.

RPF appealed to the people

RPF has appealed to the people not to go to the railway tracks and not to take steps like suicide. RPF said that if any person is thinking of committing suicide then he should contact RPF or any other helpline.
