YouTube app will now be available on Amazon Fire TV devices and other Fire TV devices

Amazon and Google have been at loggerheads since 2017 when Chromecast removed Amazon's OTT service and Amazon removed the YouTube app from its Fire TV stick and Fire TV platform.But now it seems that the two tech giants decided to have put their differences aside for the benefit of millions who stream videos.  

With this move, YouTube app will now be available on Amazon Fire TV devices and Fire TV Edition smart TVs, while Amazon's OTT service will be available to Chromecast and Chromecast built-in devices. In addition, the OTT service will also be made available across Android TVs, while the YouTube TV and YouTube Kids apps will also come to Fire TV later this year.

Heather Rivera, Global Head of Product Partnerships at YouTube, said, “We are excited to work with Amazon to launch the official YouTube apps on Fire TV devices worldwide.”  “Bringing our flagship YouTube experience to Amazon Fire TV gives our users even more ways to watch the videos and creators they love.”

Now, with this development, the eventual winner will be the end user as today's announcement would ensure that YouTube app returns to Fire TV helping them watch YouTube videos in up to 4K resolution with HDR.
