New Delhi: Rajasthan Royals (RR) star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is seen in tremendous form in the ongoing IPL season. This season, Chahal is at the top of the list of bowlers with 23 wickets. In the match played against Delhi Capitals (DC), Chahal got the only wicket in the form of Mitchell Marsh, although his team could not win the match. RR suffered a defeat by 8 wickets in this match, but with the wicket of Marsh, Chahal has broken the 14-year-old record of Pakistan's Sohail Tanvir.

In terms of most wickets in a season for RR, Yuzvendra Chahal has surpassed Pakistan's Sohail Tanvir. In the first season of IPL, Tanvir took 22 wickets for RR, while with the wicket of Marsh, Chahal has taken 23 wickets in IPL 2022. Chahal's target will now be the record of James Faulkner, who took the most 28 wickets for this team in 2013. Chahal has to play two more league matches this season, as well as Rajasthan's chances of reaching the playoffs. In such a situation, Chahal also has a good chance of breaking the record of 32 wickets of Dwayne Bravo and Harshal Patel. The name of these two bowlers is the record for taking the most wickets in a season of IPL.

Even after the crushing defeat against DC, Sanju Samson's team is at the third position in the points table. Rajasthan Royals, who have won 7 out of 12 matches, will have to win the next two matches in every case if they have to qualify for the playoffs without any trouble. If the team fails to do so, the matter could get stuck at the net run rate.
