KYIV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Thursday that he spoke to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier separately.

At the talks with Johnson, Zelensky tweeted that he discussed future collaborative international legal events as well as concerns of defensive support for Ukraine.

He expressed gratitude to Johnson for speaking to the Ukrainian parliament earlier this week. Zelensky described his conversation with Steinmeier as "excellent, helpful, and significant."

The Ukrainian president said he briefed his German counterpart on the situation on the front lines, particularly in Mariupol, and expressed optimism that Germany's help for Ukraine will be increased.
