Zero is a magnum opus movie for Shah Rukh Khan who has returned to the big screen after a gap of almost one and a half year and the excitement, as well as the expectations, was sky high among his fans. However not full filling the expectations of many, Zero gathered mixed responses as while some liked it, but there were scores of who were left upset by it.
In fact, the fans of Hindi Cinema from thier word of mouth weren’t positive for the film to see some growth over the weekend and the movie fell flat. Zero opened at Rs 20.14, saw a slight drop on its day 2 and collected Rs 18.22 crore but on its day 3 which was a Sunday, the figures were flat as it racked up in the similar range as its opening day, Rs 20.71 crore, now taking its three day total to a low Rs 59.07 crore nett. In Total the figures are Rs 72 crore.
On the other hand, it collected Rs 35 crore at the global box office, taking its worldwide weekend total to Rs 107 crore. Entertainingly, in spite of being an underperformer, Zero is only the sixth film this year to cross Rs 100 crore mark at the global box office.
Talking about Zero's global gross, trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweeted, "#Zero 1st Weekend WW BO: #India Nett - ₹ 59.07 Crs Gross - ₹ 72 Crs Overseas: Gross - ₹ 35 Crs Total - ₹ 107 Crs"
