Zika virus raises concerns amid corona havoc in Maharashtra, health department alert

Pune: The threat of coronavirus in Maharashtra has once again raised concerns and at the same time the Zika virus has started spreading rapidly. As per the recent information, the first case of the Zika virus has been reported in the Pune district and since then the health department and district administration have come on alert mode. In fact, the district administration has expressed apprehension of the zika virus in 79 villages. Now, under this, the Health Department has prepared for emergency services in these villages.

In fact, the first zika virus patient was found in Belsar village of Pune district and as soon as the first case came to light, the health department of Maharashtra became alert. On the other hand, Pune District Collector Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh held a meeting with the officials and ordered, "The health department has been informed about the risk of virus and emergency measures have been initiated in these villages. In his order issued on August 5, the District Collector had said, "79 villages in Pune district will be kept under surveillance for Zika virus infection.''

At the same time, the local administration has been asked to keep an eye on these villages. In fact, Collector Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh has also released the list of these villages and since then all gram panchayats and local district administrations have also been alerted. The district collector says that villages in the district which have been affected by dengue and chikungunya continuously in the last three years should be considered susceptible to zika virus.
