Ordered food in zomato and an item was missed. Customer care says amount can't be refunded as I didn't know Hindi. Also takes lesson that being an Indian I should know Hindi. Tagged me a liar as he didn't know Tamil. @zomato not the way you talk to a customer. @zomatocare pic.twitter.com/gJ04DNKM7w

The Zomato employee told Vikas that he tried to call the restaurant five times, but could not speak to him properly due to "language barriers". On this Vikas said that if Zomato is serving in Tamil Nadu, he should hire a Tamil-speaking person to understand the language. He asked the Zomato employee to get the money refunded from the restaurant. In response, the employee said, 'Hindi is our national language. So it's very common that everyone should get a little Hindi.' He expressed his inability to refund the money. Vikas then said that the language problem was not my problem. You refund the money as soon as you can.''
In the screenshot, you can see how your order for development was debated with Zomato's Chat Support Executive customer. The matter went viral on social media after the debate tweet was posted. As soon as the matter erupted on social media, Zomato himself tweeted an apology. Zomato wrote in his tweet, "Vanakkam Vikas, we apologize for the behaviour of our customer care agent. We have made an official statement on this incident. We hope that next time you will give us a chance to serve ourselves better."
