19 dead in Arunachal due to outbreak of diseases

Itanagar, It has been confirmed by Education minister Honchun Ngamdam that 19 people had died in the Chongkhow village under Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh between June and August from diseases like dysentery, fever, headache, jaundice and typhoid.

“Villagers are sick with dysentery, fever, headache, jaundice, typhoid. Most of them are in a state of shock at the news of deaths of their neighbours, said Longding district's Wakka zila parishad member Matpho Kolong.

On Monday, a serious note has been taken by Chief Minister Pema Khandu on the matter and spoke with Ngandam to take first hand information on the matter.

Chief Minister has assured of every possible support to the locals.

Khandu has issued directives to the health department to immediately send a medical team headed by Jampa to the village.
