Alipurduar: A man tried to slit his throat after killing his minor daughter and injuring his son in a drunken state at Jaigaon in the district.
SP Avaru Rabindranath said, “Sombahadur Chhetri, 45 year old a daily wage earner, in a drunken state killed Pratiksha 7 years old and injured Akash 5 years old with a knife. Later, he tried to slit his own throat with the same knife on Sunday night”.
Locals rescued the man and his son, while the girl died. The father-son duo are in the hospital and being treated there.
